Long weekend!
Mine starts after class ends at 6pm today. =) Then a few of us are going away for the wkend. Any reason to go away. But then i may have to bring some work with me. sigh.. it never ends.
Last night, i was helping my mum clean out my boxes and cupboards full of old toys and stuff. My uncle and his prayer group asked for some things to sell so they can use the money for charity.
OMG, i still have all my toys from when i was little. My mum dug out my little jewelry boxes (they still had jewelry in them!) and all my Polly Pocket sets. Daym, u cant buy those things in stores nemore.. they've revamped Polly and her friends. And then there was my HUGE doll's mansion (not house, mansion) which we've decided to give to my little cousin.
I also had a lot of stuffed toys. Had to negotiate with my mum for those. Some i will give up without too much of a fight, some i'm very attached to for sentimental reasons. Specially those my dad got me whenever he had to leave me to go abroad for work. She tried to put my Carebear into the charity pile when i wasnt looking. Hey, that bear may be dirty and old, but i've had it since i was 4. Aint giving that up so easily.
I would give a lot of my old toys to my cousins, but within a couple of days or even a few hrs, those toys wouldnt be play-worthy nemore. I always took good care of my stuff. I would play with my toys and then pack them up.. very well, very neatly. I still have all the original packaging and boxes.
And my books! I found the books i brought home from London. I'd been wondering where they'd gone off to. But they've resurfaced again. =D I'm gonna read each and every one of them before they go up on my shelves. If it's possible, i take even better care of my books as compared to my toys. No dog ears, no broken spines. Only Haads would understand that.. So if i have to give away my toys or books, i'd rather they go to ppl who i know can take care of them just as well as i do. It's like finding good homes for puppies. hehe
I need to seriously go thru my whole room and throw out what i dont need. I'm not a packrat but i do tend to hold on to many things. It's the just-in-case gene i've inherited from my mum. Better to not need it and have it, rather than need it and not have it.
