Selfless Acts Go Far
I know Cil has been dying for updates, especially since both of us have been busy and have had no time to catch up online. So here we are...
I've had one of the best weeks. As it seemed, diff friends i hadnt heard from in ages, started calling and asking for a catch up. Also, had a meeting in uni for a briefing for the new semester, and to get introduced to the new intake for the Masters course. They seem like a friendly bunch. =) Hope we senior students dint scare them off.
Then there's been the painting of the Children's Ward in RIPAS, and that charity yoga event for SMARTER. So i've been very busy indeed. Couldnt have been happier either.. =)
If anyone's interested in helping to paint Ward 3 in RIPAS, ure most welcome to join me and the other volunteers. It's not so much coating the walls in the same colour of paint, but more like touching up the murals they already have on there. They got some other people to draw on animals and trees and flowers. But all of it needs a fresh coat of paint, and some of it's left halfway done and so needs to be completed. HEyes has been more than willing to help out. As well as Bob. And it really is fun.. we spend time together and catch up on stories. And of course it's all for the kids. We wont be finished anytime soon cos there's still alot of work to be done, so if anyone's interested in helping out, give us a holler.
Speaking of which, does anyone remember that tv program they used to show.. think it was called Children's Ward. Can't remember very much from the show but i know i watched it all the time. All i remember is these kids would share their daily adventures (insofar possible in a hospital ward) and when the magazine trolley or tea trolley came round, they could pick up treats for themselves. And everything else abt the show, i've forgotten. hehe
Yesterday, the venue of the yoga charity event was changed to the Tai Chi Association, held in the Heng Thai building at the big roundabout in Gdg. We were initially supposed to be at Shahbandar, but due to popular reponse, they had to change the venue to accommodate everyone.
So with some ladies from SMARTER come to watch, we started our session with the sun pouring in thru the windows. It wasnt too bad tho.. focussing on my yoga, i dint really notice the heat. It was a lovely calm session.. broken only by the sounds from the roads outside, the occasional LOUD motorcycle, and the click click of the camera shutters as a few photogs milled around us.
I think we all managed to raise over $1200 for SMARTER. =) Thanks so much to William and Nora for holding this practice and getting us all involved in giving to such a good cause. I can't wait for the next one!
