Yoga Charity Event

I've been taking yoga classes for a few weeks now, under the wonderful Nora. Some days are a bit more relaxed, some days she pushes us so we end up weak-kneed and achey. But i admit that i love it. Ever so slowly, i feel my body loosen up and my muscles protest less and less at the unaccustomed stress. And i seem to be more flexible than i realised. *thoughts of D.Kool* hehe

Anyway, i wanted to let u guys know abt this charity event which u may or may not have already heard of. We're raising money for SMARTER which deals with autism in Brunei. I was just told they arent given any financial support by the govt, and i'm quite surprised by this. Discussing this with Lee atm, and i'm trying to get him to come and give his support too.

Next sunday (5th august), a yoga flow exercise will be held at Shahbandar. A minimum donation of $20 is required to secure a mat. I dont think there are alot of spots left, so if u'd like to join us for yoga that day, please book ur mat asap.

Or, if u dont feel up to a yoga session, u might like to come along anyway just to watch and make a donation of any amount.

So please come join us next week. Even if u've never done yoga, it's for charity and u may find that u enjoy it. Or if u have no idea what yoga is all about, come have a look. You may decide to pick up the practice (although there are hundreds of different types of yoga.. dont think we'll cover that in 2 hrs. hehe). =)

Let's hope the weather is good. See u there!

Happy 4th of July =)

I'm taking a short break from doing thesis work. But dont think i'll last very much longer tonite. Another 2500 words to go.. i'm so tired. I've been quite antisocial this wk... this work needs to get done, and it will.

There's a lovely little dog i'm dying to meet on saturday. My mum went over to my cousin's this afternoon to discuss who's doing what to help out on the wedding day, and she got intoduced to this tiny dog who they apparently got from my Godmum. My mum's told me i'd love her.. so i cant wait!

Everyone cept Geebs, Reen and HazelEyes are back already i think. Got to catch up with HEyes for a moment earlier and now i cant wait for her to come home! She's complained that the boys have disappeared on her. hehe Soon hun, soon.

I'm gonna be totally random now.. I was flipping through the Daily Mail the other day on the flight to KK. And there was an article about the forthcoming fifth Harry Potter movie, accompanied by this picture.

Cast of Harry Potter
Rupert Grint, Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe

(Aren't those shoes just to DIE??)

My first thought was.. "WOW, Hermione grew UP". Ezn went "Are u sure that's her??"

Well, yes. But i understand his confusion. Specially when u compare that photo (2007) to this (2000).

Cast of Harry Potter

I seriously should catch up on those HP movies i havent seen..

Scroopy Scroopy Eyes

After spending 3 nights in KK, we're back! =D Loved every bit of it.. and we were lucky to all have a good time even though it was the first time we had such a different mix of ppl. Turned out to be a great thing. =)

Hotel
View from our hotel room of Magellan Sutera and the adjoining jetty. The white building you can see on the right is part of our hotel

We stayed at the Pacific Sutera, in Sutera Harbour. Such a gorgeous place. Arrived in the afternoon, and once we got to the hotel and checked in, we decided to go grab a bite and window-shop (that was the initial plan.. we all ended up shopping. hehe). I loved that transport and everything there at the hotel was so organised. They have shuttles which go to and from the City at specific times. And also internal shuttles that send u to the Magellan Sutera next door, or the golf club, or the Marina club.

This was the first time that i stayed in a room which allows anyone else in the room to watch u shower or bathe. Seriously. My bed was the one next to the bathroom wall.. but instead of a pretty wall hanging, there were shutters. Which open so u get a full view of the bathroom. I'm still not quite sure what the point of that is tho. Cept to be able to talk to the person inside without having to wait for them to come out. hehe At that point, i was very relieved i wasnt rooming with Ezn. =/

First stop in KK was Centrepoint where Hippo got a bit excited upon seeing Burger King. Maybe more than a bit. hehe Shopping was good.. and to think, most of us dint plan to shop AT ALL for the duration of the holiday.

RZD flew in a bit later to join us so we got to freshen up for dinner. And then the night kinda sucked from there. Being hungry and cranky and tired, then being turned away from 2 (not one, but TWO) restaurants was not fun. But we did manage to get some dinner in us and to be serenaded at the table was a good end to the day after all.

Day Two was the best, without a doubt. Grabbed bfast at 9am and by 10.30am, we were being given snorkelling equipment, towels and beach mats, and being shown onto a boat to be ferried to Manukan Island. I cannot begin to describe how beautiful it is there. The water is so clear and the sky gets so blue.. =)

After 20mins of slathering on sunblock and taking a crapload of pictures (we got too excited), we were there. I got a bit of snorkelling in with Ezn and DC. I swam out without a lifejacket or flippers. My mistake.. i dint realise we'd be out there for so long with nowhere to put ur feet. Unless u wanna step on coral. It wasnt too bad tho.. i'm so thankful for all those swimming lessons i had to take back in school. But whenever my mask fogged up and i got tired of treading water, i used Ezn as a flotation device. Lol.

And we all knew to be careful not to go too deep into the water cos u end up swallowing seawater when u breathe in thru ur snorkel. But it happened anyway. And that was saaal-teee. =/ blegh... we just thought of it as some sort of rite of passage. You HAD to do it at least once. hehe

I wish i had a camera on me i could use underwater out there. I saw 2 blue starfish and scores of fish, in every colour of the rainbow. The coral wasnt as bright or pretty as i imagined, but the fish were gorgeous. You stay still long enough, and they get curious and come over to check u out. At one point, Ezn had his hands stretched out and this whole school of fish just stopped in front of him and stared. That would have looked amazing if i couldve caught it on camera. Before the little biters started attacking him, of course. I dunno what he did, but those little scampers actually started nipping at his fingers. And we learned... LITTLE FISH GOT BIG TEETH. LOL.

Before too long, it was time for our BBQ lunch right on the sand. The food was GOOD. But maybe also cos we were all hungry. Next time we're staying in one of the chalets they have on the Island. =) And maybe we'll find time to go visit those Volcanic Mud Pools and the Poring Hot Springs.

This time we got to do Parasailing and Banana-boating. I absolutely loved the Parasailing.. being up there, u cant even hear the boat's engine. All u have are the sounds of the wind and the waves. It was beautiful up there.. and Banana-boating was fun. Although that just resulted in MORE saltwater going down our throats. By the time we left for the hotel, we were all pretty beat. Tired but happy.. and after a shower, we headed out for a seafood dinner and Starbucks' coffee.

Our last day there was spent doing not very much at all. I think the excitement from the day before took alot out of us. Just spent the morning doing a little light shopping, and after lunch, some of us fell asleep or just vegged in front of the tv.

I was sorry to leave such a beautiful place.. i dont think any of us wanted to come home. But home it is, and it's back to reality and work. I think some ppl are glad we're home.. they said it was really quiet while we were gone. hehe

Sat night, exhausted as we were, we still managed to pull together a surprise party for Phoenix. We had masks, silly string, balloons, poppers and LOTS of food.

Hope you had fun, Nas. Happy Birthday again. =) Thanks for letting us take over your apartment. And sorry i couldnt stay.. was ready to fall asleep right there on the couch. hehe Lots of love!

And last nite i finally got to see what the fuss that is Transformers, was all about. Coming home from KK, i had my MSN flooded with ppl talking abt the movie and i had to see it. Caught it last nite and yes, i'm impressed. Brought back a whole lotta memories. =)

Before i forget.. Happy Belated Birthday to Abang Yus =) I'm happy u had the bestest bday. Love u lots, miss u.

Sigh.. after such a busy wkend, it's back to doing work. Got another trip coming up in less than 2 wks, and half a thesis to finish up by next tues. Cant work this wkend.. it's fully booked up cos there're 2 weddings i absolutely cant miss. So wish me luck cos i need it.
